Hunger Knows No Season

This year's Hunger Knows No Season will focus on the Westside Food Bank's Kid's Cafe. Vice Chair Norma Earl will accept monetary donations through May (480-585-2320). Be sure to make checks out to the Kid's Cafe to use donation as a tax deduction. Cindy Johnson, Southwest Valley Express Network alternate delegate, will coordinate volunteer time for local ABWA members; she can be reached at 602-738-0732.

Clothing Drive

Don't Hang That Dress Back in the Closet! Donate the Clothes You No Longer Wear. The Center for New Directions is in need of all types of clothing for men and women. Phoenix Metropolitan Council is sponsoring this community service project to help women and men in transition by assisting them to achieve economic self-sufficiency. This is an on-going project. Arizona Veterans Home

In partnership with the Arizona Veterans Home, the Council is collecting the following: Toiletries - toothpaste, mouthwash, etc (sample sizes are good); Videos - recent or classic (R-rated is OK); CD's of any type; any tray favors or decorations for communal dining. Clothing - mainly men's: fleece (sweat-material) pants, shirts and shorts, white socks, tennis or slip-on deck shoes. Small prizes and individual snack items for game prizes and for gift shop.
